Katarzyna Mazur is a Polish photographer based in Berlin.
Mazur’s works are often located in body-related spaces. She is particularly interested in different representations of physicality, the question of gender attributions and the associated power relations. Her working method is mainly based on long-term photo projects. In recent years, however, Mazur‘s visual language expanded since her
artistic practice has increasingly taken on conceptual qualities addressing questions of visual appropriation, image distortion as well as archiving practices.
Her work has been exhibited in South Korea, Italy, France, Malaysia, India, Germany, Poland and Belgium.
Her book „ANNA KONDA“ (2015, dienacht publishing) was nominated for the Aperture PhotoBook Award at the Paris Photo.
It was also selected as:
One of the Best Photo Books of the Year by photo-eye
One of the Most Beautiful Photo Books from the East by Calvert Journal
One of the Best Photo Books of the Year by A-N
